12 Bangladeshis held from Jashore border

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 12 Bangladeshi nationals, including two children and five women from Putkhali border under Benapole Port Police Station while they were trying to enter into Indian territory on Wednesday morning, Agencies report.

The detainees all hail from different places of Jashore, Narail and Khulna districts.

Being tipped-off that some people were staying at a house in Putkhali village in a bid to cross the border without valid papers, a patrolling team of BGB conducted a drive in the location around 11:30am and arrested 12 people, according to Subedar Munshi Lablur Rahman, company commander of Putkhali BGB-Camp.

The arrestees were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station after filing a case, added the subedar.
