Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 1,368 bottles of contraband Indian Phensidyl syrup raiding two houses at Chawkpara village in Shibganj upazila on Tuesday, UNB reports.
Acting on secrete information, a BGB team, led by Subedar Abu Taher of Sonamasjid border camp of BGB-9 battalion, conducted a raid on the house of one Sadequl Islam at Chawkpara around 5pm and recovered 466 bottles of Phensidyl syrup from there, said director of the battalion Lt Colonel SM Abul Ehsan.
One hour later, the same team conducted another raid on another house at the village and recovered 902 bottles of the narcotic item. Sensing the BGB team approaching, residents of both the houses managed to get away.
Later, a case was filed with Shibganj Police Station.
