14 houses gutted in Ctg

At least 14 dwelling houses were gutted in a devastating fire at Tigerpass Railway colony in the city in the early hours of today, Agencies report.

Fire Service and police sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit from a dwelling house at 2.15 am and it quickly engulfed the adjacent areas. 11 fire fighting vehicles extinguished the fire at around 4.40am.

Properties worth about Taka five lakh were burnt, fire service sources said.
