2 BD peacekeepers killed as cyclone smashes Mali coastline

Two Bangladesh police personnel, who had been serving under the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali, were killed as a cyclone lashed the West African country on Sunday.

The deceased are: Constables Md Samidul Haque and Motahar Hossain.

The two constables were on duty along with others of the UN peacekeeping mission when the cyclone brushed the coasts of Mali around 5:30pm (local time) on Sunday, said senior information officer of the Police headquarters Kamrul Ahsan, agencies report.
