2 drug peddlers held with 11,000 Yaba tablets

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 11,000 Yaba tablets and arrested two alleged drug dealers from a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar early Tuesday.

Commanding officer of BGB Battalion-2 Lt Col Abu Jar Al Jahid said the BGB members searched the three-wheeler at Damdomia check post around 6:30 am and recovered the Yaba tablet consignment.

The paramilitary force detained two drug dealers — Md Saddam Hossain, 27, son of Joynal Sheikh of Shariatpur district and Ahmad Hossain, 32, son of late Abdul Mazid of Teknaf. The arrestees along with the contraband pills were handed over to Teknaf Police Station.
