2 killed in Cox’s Bazar accident

Two persons were killed as a bus collided with a microbus on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Highway in Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar Wednesday, Agencies report .

The deceased were identified as Liton, driver of the microbus and Saiful, assistant of the driver; both hailed from Jessore district.

Police said that a Feni-bound bus of Star Line Paribahan collided face-to-face with the microbus on the highway in Khutakhali area, leaving the microbus driver dead on the spot and the assistant injured.

The injured was whisked-off to Malumghat Hospital where the physician pronounced him dead.

Malumghat Highway Police Outpost Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shafi Abedin told Banglanews that the bodies were kept at Malumghat Hospital.

The families of the deceased were informed about the matter.

Both the vehicles were seized, added the ASI.
