2 pirates killed in ‘gunfight’ with Rab in Sundarbans

Two suspected pirates of ‘Shamsu Bahini’ were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) at Badamkhali Khal of Sundarbans East Department in Sarankhola upazila on Wednesday morning, UNB reports.

The deceased were identified as Hossain Mollah, 28, and Al-Amin, 30. Adnan Kabir, deputy commanding officer of Rab-8 of Bagerhat, said the gunfight took place between the members of the elite force and the pirates around 8:15 am.

After the gunfight, the bullet-hit bodies of Mollah and Al-Amin were recovered from the spot, Adnan added.The Rab members also recovered 11 firearms and 227 rounds of bullets from the spot.
