2 sit for SSC exams amid tragic incidents

Despite facing separate tragic incidents, two SSC examinees on Thursday made it to their respective centres in two districts,UNB reports.

In Ranisankail upazila of Thakurgaon, Sumi Aktar, a SSC examinee of Rator High School, narrowly escaped a tragic road crash while going for the test at Alimuddin Government High School centre on his father’s motorcycle but lost her father on the spot.

The accident took place near Gorgon Bridge when a power trolley hit the motorcycle ridden by Abdur Rahim, 47, son of Thebderu Mohammed of Atkona village in the upazila around 9:00am.

However, locals escorted slightly injured Sumi to the examination hall where she completed her paper successfully.  In another incident in Gopalganj’s Tilgaon, SSC examinee Banna Khanam also appeared in the examination at Ramdia Government SK College leaving her father’s body at home.

According to locals, her father Kala Sikder of Tilchara village was suffering from cardiac disease and died of heart attack on Wednesday night.

With tears rolling down her eyes, Banna, a student of Syeddnnessa High School, could not concentrate on the exam paper, said Md Dewan Ahmed, secretary of the examination centre. “Necessary measures were taken to ease the situation and also for her comfort,” he said.
