4 killed in 3 road crashes in Gazipur

Four people, including a female sweater factory worker, were killed in three road accidents in the city and Sreepur and Kapasia upazilas on Friday, UNB reports. Ahsan Uddin, officer-in-charge of Kapasia Police Station, said a man and his grandson were killed when a covered van hit a motorcycle they were riding near Targaon Bridge in the upazila in the morning. The deceased were identified as Ali Akbar, 65, and his grandson Hridoy, 15.

Bahar Alam, sub-inspector of Naojor highway police camp, said Fatema alias Fahima, 18, a worker of Pashmi Sweater Factory and daughter of Siddikur Rahman, was killed when a speeding bus ran over her while she was going to her workplace in Chandana Bhogra area in the morning.

Fahima hailed from Sherpur district.   In another incident, a young man was killed when a human hauler knocked down his bicycle at Karnapur Bazar in Sreepur upazila around 8 am.

The deceased was identified as Faizuddin Farazi, 25, son of late Suruj Ali Farazi of Rayed village in Kapasia upazila.
