4 tribal men abducted in Bandarban

Miscreants abducted four indigenous residents of Tangkhang Para of Thanchi in Bandarban on Saturday evening , Agencies report.

The abductees are– Athui Mong Karbari, 55, head of Tangkhang Para, his wife Apruma Marma, 45, Paichha Pru, 60 and his wife.

Chathui Marma, elder brother of Athui Mong, said that a group of miscreants cordoned-off the area and took the four persons away. They couldn’t be traced since then.

On in formation, joint forces have launched drive to rescue them.

Locals are suspecting that the members of Arakan Army could have abducted them, said Thanchi Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Jalal Ahmed.

Joint force comprised of army, Boarder Guards Bangladesh (BGB) and police are carrying out the rescue drive, added the SI.
