5 madrasa students burnt in Dhaka transmitter blast

Five students of Mohammadia Islamia Hafizia Madrasa in Dhaka’s Bangshal sustained burn injuries in an electric transmitter explosion Saturday, Agencies report. They are—Ashik, 7, Mustakin, 8, Abdur Rahman, 8, Jabed, 7 and Salman, 7.

Nazrul Islam, a teacher of the madrasha in Alubazar area of Bangshal, told Banglanews the students sustained burn injuries on their faces and hands as the transmitter exploded when they were opted to prepare lessons, on the third-floor in the morning.

Another student named Sazzad was also hurt after falling off. The students were admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

They sustained injuries on some parts of their bodies, said DMCH Police Outpost In-Charge Sub-Inspector (SI) Bacchu Mia.
