Police have arrested six alleged fraudsters in Magura district along with mobile phone sets and SIMs, Agencies report. The arrestees are Sujan Sheikh, Samad Mondol, Biplob Sheikh, Mazedul Mollah, Riaj Mollah and Rony Mollah.
Tipped off, a team of Cyber Security and Crime Division of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit of Dhaka Metropolitan police carried out drive at Moheshpur village in Sreepur upazila in Magura on Saturday.
During the drive, they arrested the six ‘gangsters’ along with nine mobile phone sets and 13 SIM cards. Later, the arrestees were brought to Dhaka on the same day.
During a preliminary interrogation, the arrestees confessed that they allured people through fake SMS and also gave them threat from Magura though mobile phones and realised money through bKash.
