7 Myanmar nationals held in Ctg

Chittagong Metropolitan Police have detained eight people, including seven Myanmar nationals, from Shah Amanat Bridge intersection early Saturday, reports BSS.  Md Mohsin, Officer in Charge of Bakalia thana said seven Myanmar citizens were nabbed early morning when they were entering the port city. The arrestees are residents of Maungdawu in Rakhine province.  The Myanmar nationals are Suraiya Khatun, 42, Ayesha Begum, 31, Anwar, 30, Ershad Ullah, 15, Younus 14, Mujibur Rahman, 17 and Hashim, 13.
Hossain Mahmud Jasim, who hails from Cox’s Bazar was arrested on charge of human trafficking.  “The arrested Myanmar citizens said they entered Bangladesh through Teknaf frontier on Thursday morning with the help of traffickers,” said OC Mohsin.
