9 lakh Yaba pills recovered in Teknaf

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard seized nine lakh pieces of Yaba tablets worth around Tk 27 crore from Shahparir Dwip on the Bay of Bengal in Teknaf upazila on Tuesday evening,UNB reports.

Coast Guard sources said a patrol team of the Coast Guard’s Teknaf station, led by Lieutenant Nafiur Rahman, commander of Teknaf Station, challenged a boat in Shahparir Dwip area at around 7:30 pm.

Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the suspected smugglers fled the scene leaving the boat on the coast. Searching the boat, the coast guards recovered 9,00,000 pieces of Yaba tablets.
