Chittagong Citizens’ Forum(CCF) today at a meeting urged the concerned authorities to take preventive measures in a planned way before flooding or incessant rain causes waterlogging in the port city.
The leaders also called for permanent solution to this problem apart from bringing an end to electricity, gas crises and refraining from fixing any unjustified holding tax in the city corporation area.
To raise awareness among the people, the organization has also decided to form Thana level committees, human chains and hunger strike.
A condolence motion was also taken at the sudden demise of CCF leader Arif Master followed by observance of one minute of silence in his honor.
Vice chair of CCF Alhaj Salamat Ali presided over the meeting held at city’s Momin Road office of the organization while secretary general Md. Kamaluddin presented the proposals.

Afjal Hossain Shamim, Md. Hossain, advocate Md. Hefajuddin, M A Hannan, AKM Osman Gani, Md. Mofizur Rahman, Md. Imon, Ahmed Sujauddin, Mohammed Mohsin Chowdhury and Dilia Begum Mou also spoke on the occasion, says a press release.
