The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) claims to have seen body of a Bangladeshi cattle trader lying on the Indian side of the border at Naogaon’s Sapahar Upazila, agencies report. .Locals and BGB personnel saw the body of one Joynal Abedin, 42, beside main pillar No. 242 on the Indian side, at Adatola at around 4:30am on Saturday.
BGB-14 Commanding Officer Lt Col Rafiqul Hasan told bdnews24.com that Abedin and several others had gone to the other side to bring cows on Friday night. He said Abedin, of Sapahar Upazila, had gone missing while the others returned. Locals then notified the BGB after seeing the body.
The BGB has already written to the Border Security Force of India asking them to return Abedin’s body.
