WT24 Desk

Bangladeshis living in Qatar have been suggested contacting Bangladesh embassy in Doha for necessary advice before taking any decision individually, Agencies report.

The advisory was issued against the backdrop of the recent development after Arab nations cut tie with the Gulf state, accusing it of destabilising the region with its support for Islamist groups.

“All Bangladeshis in Qatar are requested to consult with the embassy for necessary advice instead of taking any decision individually,” the embassy said in a statement.  The contact phone number in Bangladesh Embassy in Doha, Qatar is +97444671927.

In the statement, the embassy said that it would be able to give proper advice after monitoring and properly analyzing the changed situation. The embassy also said that they are monitoring the situation closely, with maintaining constant contact with the authorities concerned.

It said that there is nothing to be panicked as the situation was under full control of the Qatar Government. Nearly 380,000 Bangladeshis are now working in Qatar, a major destination for the Bangladeshi workers.
