Barack Obama has proven that even world leaders aren’t exempt from making your typical embarrassing dad jokes when the opportunity arises. The US President has joined iconic survivalist, Bear Grylls, on a trip to Alaska as they assess the damage caused by global warming and the effects of climate change in the state.
Together they are filming a one-off special of Bear’s show ‘Running Wild With Bear Grylls’ at the Exit Glacier in the Kenai Mountains, however, it’s not all work, work, work with the duo stopping to pose for a series of pictures – including one rather dashing selfie. Posting the photo to the official White House Instagram page, Obama uploaded the cheeky snap and quipped in the caption: “Glad this was the only bear I met in the park”
We can almost hear Natasha and Malia Obama’s sighs from this side of the Atlantic…
He also put on his serious hat for further photos, sharing one of the gorgeous Resurrection Bay and writing alongside: “Resurrection Bay is one of those places that reminds you of all the beauty this country has to offer. “It’s home to whales (I got to see one!), sea lions, and dozens of other species. Surrounded by jagged cliffs and alpine glaciers, this is a place that’s worth protecting.”
Anybody else ‘aww-ing’ at the idea of the President getting excited at the sight of a whale? Because we definitely are. Bear also shared the selfie on his personal Insta, and it sounds as though him and his new bezzie mate Barack are having an adventure to remember, he shared: “@POTUS such special moments all through this journey. & what you are doing to help protect our planet is inspiring”, according to Yahoo News.
