Local Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL) activists allegedly went on rampage and ransacked the house of BNP-backed mayoral candidate Roman Hossain Patowary of Ramganj municipality on Friday, UNB reports. Roman Hossain Patowary said a group of 10-15 members of BCL activists stormed into his house in Ratanpur area in the afternoon and vandalized the widows and doors of the house.During the attack, they also blasted three hand made bombs. However, there was no injury to anyone from the blast. Earlier, the attackers injured a man, Abul Kalam, by beating him with a stick as he tried to obstruct them from snatching loudspeaker for campaigning. Officer-in charge of Ramganj Police Station Mohammad Tota Mia said a police team has been sent to the area.
Contacted, Awami League-backed mayoral candidate Abul Khayer Patwari refused the allegation.
