B’deshi worker killed in Jeddah lift fall

A Bangladeshi expatriate was killed after falling off a lift at a construction site in Jeddah of Saudi Arabia on Friday night, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Alam Mia, 25, son of Nasir Mia of Paropolli village in Gowainghat upazila of Sylhet.

Family members said Alam was the elder among four brothers and sisters. He went to Saudi Arabia to work as a construction worker in a private company.

On Friday night, he got into a damaged lift from where unfortunately fell off and died on the spot, they added.

Local union parishad member Abdus Shukkur and victim’s uncle Rafiq Mia said they are waiting for the body to be arrived home.
