MOVE over meaningful quotes and giant roses on your bum – the latest tattoo trend is “blackout”, The Sun reports. The painful process involves covering up chunks of your body with intense black ink. It even has its own hashtag called #blackouttattoo which has 1,807 posts on Instagram.
One of the artists who specialises in blackout tattoos, Chester at Oracle Tattoo in Singapore, uses Instagram to show off some of those black designs. Works include one woman named Linjojo’z who got her entire upper body carved out with some serious dark black ink leaving a rose on her hand. She posted photos of the tattoo in progress, which she decided to get to cover up an old skull tattoo design she had on her chest.
When one commenter asked if she planned to get more work done, Linjojo’z replied: “Nope! I am happy with the way my tattoos look now!” So if you’re thinking of covering up an embarrassing tat, consider getting it blacked out.
