The broader price index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Sunday crossed the 5400-point mark on higher transaction, indicating a positive trend in the day amid active participation of investors, Agencies report.
DSEX, the prime index of DSE, rose over 79.91points to finish the day at 5422.79, showing a significant increase from previous session on Thursday which was at 5342.8 .
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also rose 11.51 points or 0.92 per cent to settle at 1254.52 points. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 23.55 points or 1.23 per cent to end at 1934.06.
The gainers took a handsome lead over the losers, as out of 338 issues traded, 213 closed higher, 99 closed lower and 16 remained unchanged on DSE trading floor.
The daily trade value increased to Tk 16.59 billion from the previous day’s Tk 14.16 billion and the volume rose to 55.65 crore shares from 47.06 crore shares. The day’s five major gainers were CAPMBDBLMF, TRUSTB1MF, GPHISPAT, FINEFOODS and BDAUTOCA.
The day’s five major losers were SHYAMPSUG, ZEALBANGLA, SAMATALETH, ISNLTD and KPPL. BEXIMCO top the turnover leaders followed by LANKABAFIN, APOLOISPAT, BARKAPOWER and GPHISPAT.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the same trend with its CASPI index 151.97 points up at 10101.53. The daily tread value rose to Tk 1,067.06 million and the volume was 39 million shares.
