IF YOU are one of those “just five more minutes” kind of people who wears down the snooze button on their alarm clock, you’ll be pleased to hear that a lie in can save lives, The Sun reports.
If you need a legitimate reason to snuggle into that pillow for a few minutes more, just use Raymond Bowling as a case study
Initially when his alarm went off Raymond got up top use the toilet but rather than getting ready for the day he decided to sneak back to bed for a little bit more kip.
Minutes later a monster branch came crashing through the ceiling of his bathroom in the exact spot he would have been standing has he brushed his teeth or weighed himself that morning.
In his facebook post he said: “What I’m dealing with this morning… I actually stood up to start getting ready for work but decided to let the snooze go off one more time.
“Laid back down and this happened just minutes afterwards. Good Lord was looking out for me for sure… #savedbythesnooze.”
The branch was caused by severe weather which tore through the Midwest earlier this week.
The storm system killed at least two people in Illinois and one in Missouri so Raymond really was lucky to have survived the bizarre incident.
If this has taught us anything, it’s that there’s nothing wrong with taking another five minutes in bed.
Raymond isn’t the first person to be feeling lucky to be alive recently, in December we brought you news of a miracle escape for a driver as he narrowly avoided being BEHEADED by a lorry during a horrific crash.
