Brexit battering for billionaires as markets fellThe world’s 400 richest people lost nearly £100bn on Friday as the markets reacted to the UK voting to leave the European Union, Mail Online reports.

The group of billionaires, including Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Britain’s richest man Gerald Grosvenor, lost 3.2 per cent of their paper net worth.

The calculations for the £93bn loss, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, saw Europe’s richest man Amancio Ortega, the owner of Spanish clothing giant Inditex which owns High Street chain Zara, lose the most on paper – at more than £4.4bn.

Investment guru Warren Buffett, the world’s third richest man, saw his fortune fall by £1.7bn – while Britain’s 15 richest people lost £4bn.
