More students should be brought under scouting programme to build a disciplined society, Agencies report.
Speakers made the call while addressing the inaugural function of five-day basic training for scout leaders at Gaibandha Adarsha Degree College here yesterday.
With Professor Santosh Kumar Chowdhury in the chair, the inaugural function of the event was held at the hall room of the college. District Rover Scout (DRS) organised the event.
Deputy Commissioner Goutam Chandra Pal who is also the Chairperson of the DRS addressed the function as the chief guest.
The chief guest said as any scout and rover member could not be found involved in destructive activities of the country, including militancy and drug taking, the number of scouts and rovers should be increased motivating the youths.
The function was addressed, among others, by Principal of the college Mamtazur Rahman. General Secretary of the DRS Uzzal Chakrabartee moderated the function.
