Chinese company to invest US$ 8.7m in CEPZ

An Chinese company, Sunshine Accessories Manufacturing BD Ltd, will set up a textile and interlining industry in the Chittagong Export Processing Zone by investing 8.7 million US dollar, reports agency. An agreement to this effect was signed today between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and the Sunshine Accessories Manufacturing BD Ltd here, a BEPZA press release said. Syed Nazrul Islam, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA and Miz Lili, Chairman of Sunshine Accessories Manufacturing BD Ltd have signed the lease agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Executive Chairman of BEPZA Major General Muhammad Habibur Rahman Khan was present at the signing ceremony, among others. The Chinese company would create employment opportunity for 799 Bangladeshi nationals, the release said.  Sunshine Accessories Manufacturing BD Ltd would manufacture annually two crore meters of gray fabric, dyed fabric, lining and interlining, it added.
