A seven-member delegation of the National People’s Congress of China (NPCC) today paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office on the campus here,BSS reports.
NPCC Standing Committee Vice-Chairman Chen Changzhi led the delegation, said a DU press release. Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ma Mingqiang, DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin, Director of DU Confucius Institute Dr. Zhou Mingdong and high officials of Chinese embassy in Dhaka were present on this occasion, among others.
Issues related to mutual interests, particularly the on-going academic and research collaboration between Dhaka University and Chinese universities, were discussed in the meeting, the release added.
Prof. Arefin Siddique apprised the Chinese delegation about the academic and research programs of Dhaka University. Chen Changzhi expressed his willingness to enhance and intensify all sorts of cooperation, including academic and cultural ones, with DU as well as Bangladesh.
Later, Chen Changzhi and other members of the delegation visited Confucius Institute at Dhaka University. The DU vice-chancellor thanked the delegation for visiting Dhaka University and also for expressing keen interest in intensifying collaboration with it. He presented a DU crest to Chen Changzhi, the release said.
