Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police, Chittagong range, Mohammad Shafiqul Islam today said the police force has always been with the family members of the deceased policemen, who sacrificed their lives during discharging their duties, BSS reports.
Addressing the family members of the deceased policemen, the DIG said the police department would stand by them during their well and woe.
“Never think that you are helpless. Come to us without any hesitation during any crisis. Doing something better for you means doing the same for our own family members”, the DIG added.
The Chittagong range DIG said this while addressing the Police Memorial Day-2017 at city’s Dampara Police Lines.
The policy group of Bangladesh Police decided to observe March 1 as the “Police Memorial Day” as recognition to the immense sacrifice and patriotism of the deceased policemen.
To mark the day, Chittagong range police conferred award upon the family members of 14 policemen who died during performing their duties in different areas under Chittagong range.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Deputy Commissioner Faruk Ahmed presided over by function while Superintendent of Police, Chittagong District Nur-e-Alam Mina, Muktijuddha Commander Mohammad Sahabuddin, city Muktijuddha Commander Mozaffar Ahmed, Additional DIG Mohammad Muslem Uddin and vice-president of the Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) Nirupom Das Gupta, among others, addressed it.
