David Cameron begs world leaders at White House to back his EU stay bid

THE PM yesterday used a nuclear terror threat summit to drum up support for his EU crusade, The Sun reports. He called on world leaders to speak out against Brexit at a White House dinner thrown by President Barack Obama. New Zealand PM John Key, Canada leader Justin Trudeau and India’s Narendra Modi were among those David Cameron targeted in Washington.

Brexit campaigners blasted him as he said: “Being here is also an opportunity to talk to friendly nations about the European referendum issue.”  Ex-Tory Defence Secretary Liam Fox said as Mr Key praised the EU: “It seems Project Fear has gone international.”

Vote Leave’s Matthew Elliott pointed out Britain has no free trade deal with New Zealand because “we’ve handed control of trade policy to the EU”.
