The three-day annual conference of the deputy commissioners (DCs) of the country began in the capital city on Tuesday, Agencies report.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the conference at Shapla Hall of her office at about 10:00 am.
Alongside the DCs, divisional commissioners of country’s eight divisions also attended the function. Public administration minister Sayed Ashraful Islam, state minister for the ministry Ismat Ara Sadeq, cabinet secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam, PM’s principal secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury spoke in the inaugural session, among others.
The PM gave 23-point directives to the administrative chiefs of the districts on various issues, policies and measures taken by the government. She gave directives about the development initiatives and the government’s success stories.
Sheikh Hasina told the DCs that the common people won’t get benefits of any development project if there is any corruption in it. She asked them to take a strong stance against the corruption at any cost.
The rest sessions of the conference will be held at the Bangladesh Secretariat. During the conference, the DCs will raise various issues of their respective districts and place recommendations.
The deputy commissioners will also meet President Abdul Hamid during the conference.
