Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses — Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – suffered loss on Sunday, the 1st trading day of the week, reports UNB. The DSE benchmark index, DSEX lost 39.96 points or 0.86 percent to close at 4624.95 on the day. Of the 304 issues traded, 100 gained, 158 declined and 46 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 249.06 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday against Tk 266.31 crore on Thursday. The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Fareast Finance & Investment, Provati Insurance Company, Imam Button, Lafarge Surma Cement, Meghna Condensed Milk, Sonali Aansh, Meghna Pet Industries, National Tubes, BATBC, and Green Delta Insurance.
The 5 turnover leaders at DSE were Shahjibazar Power, Ifad Autos, Shasha Denims, Lafarge Surma Cement and Summit Alliance Port. The CSE key index, CSCX, lost 49.47 points to reach 8617.41 on Sunday. Of the 223 issues traded, 87 advanced, 107 suffered loss and 29 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 23.69 crore at the CSE on the day.
