The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed upward trends in early trading Sunday as optimistic investors remain active,UNB reports.
After first one hour of trading, the key index of the country’s major bourse advanced 20.45 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 47.83 points.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went up by 20 points or 0.33 percent to stand at 6, 135.44 at 11:43 am. The two other indices also saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also advanced 8.84 points or 0.40 percent to stand at 2,187.34.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 9.13 points or 0.67 percent to reach at 1,357.00. Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 4135.12 million on the DSE, riding on Lafarge Surma Cement and LankBangla Finance.
Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 244.94 million changing hands till then, closely followed by LankBangla Finance, Summit Power, Mithun Knitting and Dying.
Of the issues traded till then, 162 advanced, 107 declined and 46 issues remained unchanged. The port city bourse, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 47.83 points to stand at 11,515.85 also at 11:40 am. Of the issues traded till then, 47 gained, 70 declined and 21 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 177 million.
