Both the bourses — Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Wednesday amid increased market participation by enthusiastic investors,UNB reports.
The benchmark index of the DSE went up by 35.30 points, while the Selective Category Index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) rose 38.49 points.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), advanced 35.30 points or 0.57 percent to stand at 6,123.67 at 11:43am. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 7.86 points or 0.55 percent to stand at 1,414.61 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also advanced 11.80 points or 0.52 percent to stand at 2,257.83 points. Trade deals stood at 48,215 shares with transaction at over Tk 2,189.56 million on the DSE.
Of the issues traded till then, 215 advanced, 67 declined and 44 issues remained unchanged. Lanka Bangla Finance limited dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 188.85 million changing hands till then.
The port city bourse also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 38.49 points to stand at 11,396.66 points, also at 11:43am.
Of the issues traded till then, 101 gained, 37 declined and 14 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 90 million.
