Both the bourses — Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading Thursday, the last trading session of the week,UNB reports.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 12.45 points or 0.24 percent to 5040.37 after first one and half hour of the trade. But the two other indices also opened higher.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 3.19 points or 0.26 per cent to stand at 1192.19. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, rose over 4.12 points or 0.22 per cent to 1812.57.
Turnover stood at Tk 4147.31 million on the premier bourse when the report was filed at 11:57am. Of the issues traded till then, 172 advanced, 110 declined and 35 remained unchanged.
GENNEXT was the most traded stocks till then with shares Tk 157.63 million changing hands followed by UNITEDAIR, UNIONCAP, TITASGAS, IFADAUTOS and BBS.
The port city bourse –CSE also saw positive trend with its Selective Category Index — CSCX – advancing 14.27 points to 9382.30, also at 11:54am. Of the issues traded till then, 106 gained, 59 declined and 30 issues remained unchanged on the CSE with a turnover value of Tk 281 million.
