FACEBOOK billionaire Mark Zuckerberg has 16 personal bodyguards flanking him – even while he is at home, it has emerged, according to The Sun. The social media pioneer is said to have has ramped up security at his £7 million home in San Francisco and £5 million home in Palo Alto, California. Bodyguards now patrol the properties day and night, working in shifts to ensure the safety of Zuckerberg, his wife Priscilla Chan and their two-month-old daughter, Maxima.
Speaking about Zuckerberg’s home in particular, the source said: “He has guards over at his place.” Zuckerberg’s legion of security personnel has managed to annoy his neighbours in San Francisco, however. Last month local residents said bodyguards’ vehicles were “permanently… illegally” taking up two prime parking spots in the area.
“We’ve spoken to the security guards, and they were cordial but ultimately have been instructed by their supervisors to not move the cars under any circumstances,” a letter read. Although Zuckerberg’s Palo Alto property cost just £5 million, he is said to have spent a further £20 million buying up neighbouring houses to rent out.
