Police arrested two more people in connection with the murder of Awami League leader Swapna Akter in Nabinagar upazila, Agencies report.
Police said Jaher Miah, 32, son of Abul Kalam Mia of Koroibari village in the upazila, was arrested on Saturday midnight and another man who was allegedly involved in the killing mission is being brought here from Chittagong.
Three people were arrested in this connection so far, said Nabinagar police station officer-in-charge Aslam Sikdar, adding that auto-rickshaw driver Jahangir, who was arrested a day after the murder, was produced before court on Friday.
Earlier on November 22, women affairs secretary of Nabinagar upazila Awami League Swapna Akhter was killed in an attack by miscreants while she was retuning home at Chairpara by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw after attending a party programme.
Amir Hossian, brother of the deceased, filed a case with Nabinagar Police Station against some unnamed people.
