FERNE McCann is urging people to ditch the sunbeds following her secret cancer scare,The Sun reports. The reality star has been away from the spotlight for a number of weeks while she focuses on her first theatre role but the 25-year-old revealed she also had to have two moles removed from her face.

She told Now Magazine: “I had two moles come up on my face and went to see a doctor who said I should get them removed as soon as possible.

“I’d had them a while and they started to become more noticeable. “As they were on my face and always exposed to the sun, I did what the doctor advised. “You can still one of them following the procedure, but it’s not as obvious.”

Ferne admitted she feared the worst and thought it could have been skin cancer. She said: “Thankfully they weren’t but it took this scare to make me realise how dangerous sunbeds can be.

“In Essex especially, it’s such a thing to use one before a big night out, but it’s be. “It’s not healthy at all.” Instead of going under the lamps, Ferne is encouraging fans to use fake tan instead.

Meanwhile, The I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here star enjoyed a night out on Sunday when she partied at the Professional Footballers’ Association Awards.

The TOWIE regular has been linked to Tottenham Hotspurs player Dele Alli who won Young Player of the Year at the ceremony. However, Ferne rubbished rumours she’s dating the 20-year-old football ace.

She told Now: “There’s absolutely no truth in that. I was never spotted out with Dele Alli. “Becoming a WAG is my idea of hell. “It’s the complete opposite of what I’d want – I love to wake up and have a purpose , to graft and work really hard.

“I don’t know why girls would ever aspire to become a WAG. “It’s just no ambition of mine and I think it’s a real shame that girls aspire to this whole luxurious lifestyle as a career choice.

“There are so many women, like Cheryl, Abbey Clancy and Coleen Rooney, who have careers away from that title. It shouldn’t define you.”

Ferne is currently starring as Myrtle in Gatsby at London’s Union Theatre and is also finishing her autobiography, Cross My Heart.
