SHOCKING footage shows a violent clash between rival football yobs ahead of Everton and Manchester United’s FA Cup Semi-Final at Wembley, The Sun reports. Travelling fans were filmed trading blows at a motorway service station in front of shocked onlookers.
The violence erupted at Cannock services in Staffordshire at around 11am. A man in an blue t-shirt – named on social media as an Everton fan – can be seen to grab another man by the throat. A third man wades in throwing brutal punches and seems to knock the man in blue out cold, leaving him sprawled on the floor.
More beer swilling yobs jump in to the fray and others throw bottles. One supporter seems to throw a royal blue smoke bomb. A young lad in an Everton shirt, with Barkley written on the back, is visibly distressed by the violent scenes and is carried away.
Police swooped after onlookers reported the ugly clash. A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police confirmed they were called to a disturbance but the fight was over when they arrived and no arrests were made. As precaution they sent more officers to patrol services en route to Wembley with 60 supporter coaches expected to stop along the way.
The FA Cup semi-final between Everton and Manchester United is due to kick off at 5.15pm.
