Another victim with severe burns in a furnace oil factory fire in Gazipur’s Pubail has died, taking death toll to six.
Abdul Quader, 50, of Tongi, succumbed to his burns early on Sunday at the burns unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said DMCH police outpost Inspector Mozammel Haque.
“Two other injured are also in critical condition,” he told bdnews24.com.
Five people died on the spot and five more were badly burnt after a boiler explosion started the fire at Smart Metal and Chemical Industries Ltd factory on Saturday afternoon.
The factory extracts furnace oil from old tyres, according to Fire Service officials. Doctors had said that Quader had suffered 90 percent burns. The two others – ‘Kamal’ and ‘Swadhin’ – suffered 85 percent burns.
