Gopalganj road crash leaves 4 dead, 25 hurt

At least four people were killed and 25 others injured in a road crash as two passenger buses collided head-on in Chagalchira area under Maksadpur upazial of the district on Monday afternoon, Agencies report.

Of the deceased, three people were identified as BRTC bus driver Abul Shikdar, 50, Kawsar, 12, hailed from Bagura and Munni Akhter, 18, hailed from Bhola.

Faridpur Bhanga highway thana officer-in-charge (OC) Izajul Islam told Banglanews that the accident took place on Dhaka-Barisal highway around 2:00pm while a Barisal-bound BRTC bus collided with Dhaka-bound Golden Line bus leaving two people dead on spot and 27 injured.

The injured were rushed to Rajoir Upazila Health Complex, Barisal and Faridpur Medical College and Hospitals. Two people died later at Rajoir Upazila Health Complex, he added.
