The government has considering introducing a 40 percent quota for local students for admission into government and private secondary schools across the country, agencies report. A meeting was held at the Education Ministry on Tuesday in this regard.
Talking to UNB, joint secretary of the Education Ministry Ruhi Rahman said the meeting unanimously agreed to keep aside 40 percent seats for the local students at the government-run schools throughout the country. However, no decision has been taken yet, he said.
Another meeting will be held on Wednesday over the quota in private institutions, Ruhi added.
