Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has advised Eden Hazard to start making headlines on the pitch again rather than off it after the Belgian refused to rule out a move to Paris Saint-Germain, Sky Sports reports. Hazard admitted in an interview with Le Parisien earlier this week his principal aim is to win the Champions League and said it would be difficult to say no to a move to PSG or any of the other elite contenders.

The comments come at a poor time for Chelsea as they head to Paris on Tuesday to face PSG in the first leg of their last-16 tie in the Champions League. Will Hazard be on the move this summer? “Everyone knows how good Eden Hazard can be. This year it hasn’t happened. He has not had the desire. He looks like he has not enjoyed this year. “Last year, he had a smile on his face nearly all year.” Hazard was crowned Premier League Player of the Year last season as he scored 14 goals and registered 10 assists to help Chelsea lift the title.

The 25-year-old netted 37 league goals during his first three seasons with the Blues but has failed to find manage one league goal so far in this campaign. “I think he has been caught up in the season he had,” Cascarino said. “He was exceptional. They gave him a new five-year deal. “Real Madrid were chasing him down. Zinedine Zidane has made it openly clear that he loves him as a player.

“I think he has had his head turned and he has not quite put in the shifts that are required – even when you are a great player.” In Jose Mourinho’s final game in charge of Chelsea against Leicester City in December, when the Blues were defeated 2-1 at the King Power Stadium, Hazard was substituted in the 31st minute with an apparent hip injury.

After the match, Mourinho, who was sacked three days later, revealed he had asked Hazard to continue, but the player himself decided he could not. Cascarino believes that incident epitomises the lack of hunger Hazard has displayed all season.Chelsea’s Eden Hazard apologised to Jose Mourinho over his poor form

“When he came off against Leicester, with his attitude walking off, you can tell he didn’t want to be there,” Cascarino said. “He has just got into a comfort zone. He is mentioning PSG but he has just signed a five-year contract for Chelsea and had a difficult year.

“You were fantastic last year but you are not that player this year.”
