Left-arm batsman left Bangladesh for Sri Lanka on Saturday afternoon to join the national camp to play the second Test against the hosts country starting on Wednesday (March 15) at P Sara International Stadium in Colombo, UNB reports.
Dhaka in the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) called top order batsman Imrul Kayes in the national side to increase the strength of batting.
Imrul was left out from the 15-man squad in the first Test due to his injuries. He developed the injuries during the New Zealand tour on January. Later, Imrul was included in the team for the one-off test against India, however, he got injured again during the warm-up match there.
Bangladesh will play their 100th Test in the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, beginning on March 15.
Sri Lanka took 1-0 lead in the two-test Joy Bangla Cup series with a huge 259-run victory against touring Bangladesh in the first match which ended on the 5th day at Galle International Stadium on Saturday.
