A two-day International Seminar on “Teaching-Learning and New Technologies in Higher Education” was held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on Friday. British Council, India’s National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA) and Centre for Policy Research in Higher Education (CPRHE) jointly organized the seminar.
The seminar was inaugurated on February 25 by Professor Ved Prakash, Chairman, University Grants Commission of India. A four-member Delegation from Bangladesh was led by Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh. Other members of the delegation included UGC members Dr. Dil Afroze Begum, Dr. M Shah Nowaz Ali and Nazmul Haque Khan, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Education.
Attended by more than one hundred delegates and participants from 13 countries, the seminar intensively discussed the need for spread and quality of higher education in the South and South East Asian region. A total of 17 academic and research papers were presented in the seminar.
The seminar emphasized the need for establishing connectivity amongst the universities of the region, agencies report.
