It may not be the cheapest but it appears EE is the best mobile network in the UK, dailystar.co.uk reports. The team from RootMetrics have just announced their yearly test results and EE has come out on top.  RootMetrics tests the big four networks across the whole of the UK with overall performance, reliability, speed, internet, calls and texts all scored out of 100.

The tests have revealed that EE is the fastest and top overall operator, earning five out of six UK RootScore Awards for the UK as a whole. This included wins for Overall Performance, Network Speed, Mobile Internet, Call, and Text. Three also performed well getting top marks for its reliability although did come last for network speed.

O2 and Vodafone both failed to get a top spot in any of the tests but Vodafone’s speed was second best in the UK.

Speaking about this year’s results Scott Stonham, RootMetrics General Manager of Europe said: “EE continues to provide the best mobile performance across the UK, but we’re seeing some of the other operators making good improvements across all the different ways we use our mobile phones,

“Choosing the mobile operator that’s right for you is not one-size-fits-all. While some people care most about fast mobile internet so they can watch videos or download music without delay, others just want to know that they can reliably make a call or send a text.

“Consumers can use this report to make informed decisions based on where they live and how they tend to use their phone.”
