ISIS terror chiefs are training troops for sea-landings ready to attack Brits on packed beaches, The Sun reports. The sick brutes are launching their own version of the Special Boat Squadron – sparking fears of summer carnage. They are putting a group of Indian jihadists through their paces on lake Qattinah close to the Syrian city of Homs.
A sea-borne attack by groups of heavily armed terrorists in motorboats would cause slaughter – especially if the attackers had undergone months of training to hone their deadly skills. Germany’s BND security service – the equivalent of Britain’s MI6 – has learned from its Italian counterpart of an ISIS plot to bring bloodshed to holiday resorts.
According to the report the Italians were informed of the terror plans from a credible source in Africa. ISIS, which is squeezed financially as the international coalition ranged against it in the Middle East hampers its movement and military actions, is looking for more soft targets in the west and came up with the holiday bombing campaign.
The beaches which intelligence chiefs say are definitely targeted include resorts in southern France, the Costa del Sol in Spain and both coasts in Italy. Turkey and the north African country of Morocco are also at risk. A high ranking German official said: “It could be a whole new dimension of terror. Holiday beaches cannot be protected.”
Last year 38 people, 30 of them British, died when a gunman opened fire on a beach in Tunisia. Student Seifeddine Rezgui cackled as he carried out the massacre and deliberately selected western tourists in the horrifying incident
It followed an attack on the National Bardo Museum in Tunis in March that left 21 tourists and a policeman dead.
