The High Court (HC) today ordered a judicial probe into the incident of assault of a school teacher Shyamal Kanti Bhakta of Narayanganj, BSS reports. A two-member division bench comprising Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Ashish Ranjan Das passed the order upon a petition.

It also asked the authorities concerned to submit a report by November 3 before it and set November 6 for the next hearing.

The court in its observation said that police has failed to identify the real people responsible for the misdeed while judicial mind had not been applied in delivering the order of registering the police report after taking it into consideration by the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court of Narayanganj.

Police in its report said the teacher’s assault had taken place all of a sudden and no legal action could be taken against any person as the teacher had no complaint to this end.  The court earlier on May 18 issued a rule asking why action has not been taken against the culprits.
