IMAGES appearing to show the long-awaited Samsung Galaxy S7 have been leaked a fortnight before its official release, according to The Sun. The picture of the rear of the handset shows a sleeker design with the camera flush to the back plate, which is consistent with previous rumours about the replacement for the hugely popular S6.
The phone in the snap, released by Vietnamese tech website ReviewDao, does have a plastic back rather than glass as predicted, but SamMobile points out this may only be a prototype, and not how the finished product will look.
It also shows the metal frame on the sides of the device, which according to rumours is apparently magnesium and not aluminium.Another image, circulating on Chinese social media site Weibo, shows the front of the larger Edge model after running a benchmark test.
Samsung watchers have noted the screen labels the phone as an SM-G9350, which other leaks have claimed is the S7 Edge’s model number. The results for the larger, curved-screen version of the phone tally up with what expert expect a device with the S7’s rumoured specs would achieve.
The Galaxy S7 is due to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 21.
