A housewife was hacked to death allegedly by her husband at Kamrangirchar Muslimbag area in Dhaka on Sunday evening, reports UNB.
The deceased was Tania Akhtar, 16, wife of Alamin Hossain of Lalbag area of the city.
Md Bachchu Mia, sub-inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp quoting Ramjan Ali, cousin of the victim, said Alamin hacked Tania in front of Tania’s mother, leaving her critically injured.
Tania’s mother also received injuries while she was trying to resist Alamin. Later, locals rescued the duo and sent them to DMCH where physicians declared Tania dead, the SI added.
Locals also said that Alamin is a drug-addict.
