Adnan Januzaj has struggled to force his way into the Borussia Dortmund first-team And his loan deal could now be cut short ahead of a return to Manchester United
Man Utd outcast set for shock return as Louis van Gaal prepares January deal
The winger, who was sent on loan to Borussia Dortmund in the summer, appeared to be surplus to requirements under manager Louis van Gaal, The Daily Express reports. The decision to send him out was seen as a bit of a shock at the time, with his days at Old Trafford seemingly numbered.
However, The Sunday Mirror claim Van Gaal is ready to perform a spectacular u-turn by bringing him back despite rejecting him at the start of the campaign. Before moving to Germany he scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Aston Villa.
Much was expected of him but his chance to impress was brought to an abrupt halt. The Belgian, 20, has endured an equally frustrating time in the Bundesliga and has found himself on the fringes of Thomas Tuchel’s side. And if United can agree to cancel the deal with Dortmund they might now be happy to give him another chance.
Van Gaal has proved he is not scared to bleed the younger players in his first-team. Jesse Lingard has enjoyed an extended run and repaid his boss with the opening goal against West Brom yesterday.
